Fred's Trips

September was a very fun month for Fred.  He had a couple trips planned and even one in October.  First he went to Kansas City for the Bronco's game.  One of his very best friends from medical school lives there, so they had a boys weekend and had a little to much fun I think.  The Bronco's won so I know that Fred thinks that it was a great trip.

The next weekend he went to Detroit to go watch the Bronco's play again.  He has a friend who is also from medical school that lives there so he stayed at his house and they went to the game together.  Fred sent me a picture of them sitting around a fire pit and it reminded me of our time while Fred was in school.  We spent countless nights sitting around a fire pit have the best time.  The Bronco's also won this weekend and that always makes Fred happy.

Mom Visits

The last weekend in September my mom got to come and visit.  It was a very short trip, she came out for my race weekend and so we didn't get to do much.  She flew in late Thursday night so I went to pick her up while Fred stayed with the kids.  Blaiden was very excited because he knew that when he woke up that G-ma would be here.

Friday we all woke up and played in the morning then had to head up to Akron to register for my race.  We came home and the kids napped.  Then we ended the day by playing outside and jumping on the trampoline. We didn't really do much but I think everyone had a really good day.

Saturday we all had to wake up very early so I could go run my race.  This was the main reason that my mom came out, she had to watch the kids while I ran.  Fred had to change some dates and had to work that morning because he was leaving to Detroit that afternoon.  I think the kids had a great time with their G-ma, (she lets them be a little more wild then mom and dad do.)  After the race we came home and relaxed for a while then went out to a great hamburger place for an early dinner.  On the way there Adilene fell asleep and so we decided to drive around for a little bit.  We drove by a park and Blaiden wanted to go play.  While he played with G-ma I stayed in the car and let Adilene sleep a little while longer.  Dinner was great and we we ended it with ice cream!  When we got home we went outside once again to run of a little bit of the sugar before bedtime.   After the kids went to bed we watched a movie and gave ourselves a pedicure.

Sunday we all slept in a little and then went shopping for a while in the morning.  We came home the kids napped, we watched some football and just played around all day.  The kids had so much fun with their G-ma!  The trip was a little to short for me but early Monday morning we had to get up and take her back to the airport.

Second Half of the Year

One of things I "gave" myself for my birthday was registering for the Akron Half Marathon.  The race I ran in April was not my best race and I really wanted to improve my time.  I also wanted to make sure that I kept using the treadmill that we got in January.  I tried to stay ahead of my training program and fit in all my long runs this time and really wanted to finish in under 2 hours.  My best time was 2 hours 9 minutes and so I thought that it was definitely possible.

Race day came and I was really nervous because I had a definite goal rather then in April where I just wanted to finish.  I couldn't find the pace runner at the beginning of the race because I was in the second starting group and so I tried to catch up to him the entire race.  Every mile I checked my time and was on track up until about mile 8.  This was the part of the course with all the hills and since I did most of my training on the treadmill it slowed my pace down to much.  From then on I could tell I wasn't going to make my goal of under 2 hours but I tried to make up my time.

In the end my time was 2 hours and 7 minutes, needless to say I was pretty disappointed in the finish.  Maybe next year!  I was pretty happy with the fact that I fit 2 races in this year, I hope to do the same thing next year.

This is the only picture my mom got but I did get to see them one other time during the race.

Pumpkin Patch

This was another event that was planned by our playgroup.  We went to this farm for Blaiden's first Halloween and we were actually planning on going back this year as a family.  I thought the kids and I would go and try it out and if we had fun we would go back again with Fred.  I am so happy we went because as I am writing this there is only a few days left in October and we never made it back with Fred.

The kids had a great time, Blaiden loved running around wild and playing in the straw maze and Adilene loved looking at the horses and trying to climb over every pumpkin she could find.  We played in several different play areas, went on a tractor ride, and had a picnic lunch.  We ended the day by picking out a small pumpkin to take home.  Blaiden was very concerned that Fred and I didn't pick out a pumpkin but I told him that we would get some before Halloween.

Golf Outing

Fred had been pretty busy with work these last few weeks and so he hasn't gotten to spend a lot of time with the kids.  Blaiden was missing him a little and so he was very excited when I told him that Daddy would be home early that day and was going to play with us all night long.  It was a beautiful day and so after work Fred was invited to go golfing.

When he got home Blaiden wasted no time and asked Fred to go outside and play with him.  Fred told him that he had a choice for him to make.  He asked if he wanted him to stay home and play with the whole family or if Blaiden wanted to go golfing with him.  Blaiden automatically said golfing.  I packed a little snack bag and a drink while Fred got the clubs ready.

Fred said that he had a great time, he got to putt and even did better then Fred on one hole and was very proud of that fact!  I was missing him that day because he as went to school, came home and took a nap, then went golfing and so I hardly got to see him but I know how important the time is with just the boys and so I will give up some of my time with him.  I can't wait until Adilene and I get to have out little dates.
Fred apologized for the lack of pictures, he said they were having to much fun to think about that!
