Trip to Colorado

Usually my post about our trip to Colorado are so long and picture filled I have to split them up into several different posts.  This time all the pictures that I have came from either Fred's phone or mine. I held Adilene practically the entire trip so I didn't have any hands for the camera.  I am going to do it all in one post so it will probably be a long post.

The kids and I flew out a few days before Fred.  This time we had to buy Adilene a ticket since she just turned 2.  I thought that this would make the flights easier because I knew that we would have an entire row to ourself.  There were about 10 other small children on the flight and so I figured if one of the kids cried they wouldn't be the only one.  However, the kids did great and didn't get upset the entire time.  Adilene sat by herself the whole flight and only laid her head on my lap when she took a short nap.  When we landed in Denver my dad was there to pick us up.  On our way to the valley we stopped and ate Mexican food.  We didn't get to my parents until dark but Hadley and Emerson were there to play with us.  The kids gave hugs and then ran around like crazy.

The next day the kids and I tried to get use to the time change and we all took several naps throughout the day.  That night Jed and his girls came over again to play.  Jed had to leave because he was on call so his girls spent the night.  The next morning My parents had to go to work and so I had all 4 kids all morning.  We all had such a great time we cooked together and then everyone got a bath.  The kids had so much fun playing together.

On Saturday we went out to grandma Margaret's house so she could see the kids for a while then I headed back to drop off the kids for a nap and headed to Denver to pick up Fred.  I left a little early to do some shopping but didn't get to Honey Backed Ham before it closed so after I picked up Fred we ended up staying the night.  We got the ham on Sunday and then headed back to the valley.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were filled with visiting family, trying to get the kids to nap in the car, and we even fit in a trip to the movie theater, and bowling.  Fred and I got to go see the new Hunger Games movie and my parents took the Kids to the Peanuts movie.  Adilene didn't really have that much fun but Blaiden loved it. We also had to do a little shopping.  I wanted to get all the gifts that needed to be in Colorado so that I didn't have to worry about shipping anything.

On Thanksgiving we headed up to Creede to spend some time with Fred's family.  Blaiden and Adilene got to play with some cousins that they had never met and we ate a great meal.  Once naptime came we headed back to my parents house for our 2nd dinner.  My side was having dinner at my parents and so we made it just in time to eat again.  The kids ended the night by playing with cousins and having a great time.  Friday we didn't have a vehicle so we stayed at my parents house and rested for most of the day then went into town later that night to finish up some shopping.

Sunday Fred and I headed up to Denver for the second weekend in a row to go to the Bronco's football game.  Fred's season tickets seats were drawn to go down on the field to help hold the huge United States Flag before the game.  It was so fun and we got to be so close to the players.  Jed and Kaitlyn were also at the game so it was so fun spending a little time with them.  It snowed the entire game but the game was so good that I didn't really get cold until the end of the 4th quarter and in overtime.  The Bronco's won and so Fred was in an especially good mood.

We had to spend the night so I could take Fred back to the airport.  It was a very relaxing morning on Monday.  We stayed in bed until we knew the roads would be a little more cleared off from the snow, wasted time by shopping, and then I went and dropped Fred off at noon even though his flight didn't leave until 7 so I could get over the pass before it froze.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were filled with visiting family more, Blaiden playing with Hadley, picking up kitties from Grandma Margaret, getting a sewing lesson from Granny, more bowling, and packing up to get ready to come home.

Friday we left to Denver after my mom got off work around 2pm.  On our way through we ended up stopping at an ER in springs (I will talk about this in an entirely different post).  After a rough night in a hotel we made it to the airport.  My parents both got passes so that they could go through security with us and waited until we got on the plane.  The flight was perfect, the kids played in their seats for a while then they both took a nap.  Fred was right there to pick us up and bring us home.

It was a fun trip over all but we were all very happy to be sleeping in our own beds again.  Although Blaiden did ask why I wasn't sleeping with him like I had at G-ma's house.

Blaiden the Superhero

I am not exactly sure when Blaiden started loving superhero's but it has become an obsession.  He loves Spiderman the most but the Avengers, Batman, Ninja Turtles, and Superman are all included.  It has been going on for at least 6 months if not more and so I just wanted to share some pictures of our little superhero.

It is so fun to see his imagination at work.  We play all the time pretending that I am the bad guy.  Blaiden gets totally in character and says his name is Spiderman and I am not his mommy I'm only Blaiden's mommy.  A lot of the time "Blaiden" is one of his stuffed mickey mouse toys and I have captured him then Spiderman has to come and save him.  It turns into an even more fun game when we can play outside and I actually capture Adilene.  Blaiden chases after me all the while Adilene is laughing because I am running with her in my arms.

We have a good time!

Adilene's Birthday Party

Adilene's birthday was actually on her birthday this year.  I had so much fun decorating for this party and I think that it was my best one yet, looks like I will have to step it up for Blaiden's.  I have so much fun throwing parties even if the week of I ask myself why do I go so crazy with all the decorations.

For Adilene's 2nd birthday we decided to have a jungle themed party.  Adilene loves animals and so I started looking for ideas and thought that this theme looked so cute I couldn't help myself from using it.

The party went great even if the cookies and cake didn't turn out the best.  Other then Adilene not wanting to blow out the candles (she now blows on anything you say is hot) and being a little shy in the beginning I think she had a great time.  While I was busy cutting up the cake Adilene snuck over to her gifts and just started opening them.  Everyone thought that it was so adorable!  She received so many wonderful gifts and she seriously plays with them all!   A couple that she and Blaiden both enjoy is having a picnic with a basket she got under a Hello Kitty tent.  They will play with that for a very long time climbing in and out and giggling.

The kids could not be interrupted to get their picture taken so this is the best I could get of them.

Adilene Turns 2!

Adilene is 2 Years Old

My Appearance:  I am now weighing 23 pounds and 29.5 inches long.  In the past 6 months I have not grown that much in weight or length but my hair is just growing and growing, mom says that she doesn't ever want to cut it.  It is a beautiful blonde color with just a little tint of red in the sunlight.  Mom must love it because she is always playing with it and trying to keep it out of my face, I don't really like when she is pulling at it.  I still have dark blue eyes and I get complements on them all the time.  I may have only grown a little but everyone says I look so big.  I have lost that baby look and I definitely look like a toddler now.  I still have a little chunk on my body but I'm not worried everyone always tells me how cute I am.  I am now in 18 month clothes, size 3 shoe, and size 3 diapers.

Milestones:  One of the biggest things that I have done in the past 6 months is I started walking!!! I love being able to walk around and carry my toys with me.  I have also learned that I love to dance.  Mom turns on the music and we have a dance party in the living room almost every day.  I have also started using some sign language.  I know how to sign about 12 words including puppy, bath, drink, all done, and me. I get very excited when I learn a new sign and clap my hands when people understand me.  I can also point to several body parts when asked.  I just learned how to drink out of a straw and now every morning mom makes Blaiden and I a banana smoothie for breakfast.

Daily Routine:  I usually wake up around 6:15 drink a bottle and wait for Blaiden to wake up so we can have our smoothie.  Everyday it seems like we have something to do so mom gets me ready for the day.  Some mornings Blaiden goes to school and so I get mom all to myself.  I love this but I am always so excited to go and pick up Blaiden.  I usually take one long nap a day but sometimes I take a small extra nap.  I love to play with my toys, read books, and dump everything out on the floor.  I love it when I can go downstairs with mom but once I get down there all I want to do is play in Kiara's food and water.  I always get mad when she carries me back up the stairs.

Special Events:  Some of the fun things I got to do in the past 6 months are take a trip to Colorado for my uncle Phillips wedding.  While we were down there I got to see alligators and play at the Sand Dunes.  I went swimming about twice a week this summer and loved every minute of it.  We took a family vacation where we went to the zoo and a water park.  I got to see fireworks for the first time but I didn't really like how loud they were.  We all went to the drive through safari and I LOVED seeing all the animals, I also loved getting to be in the car without being in my car seat.  I went to an apple orchard, fed ducks, and went on countless walks around our neighborhood.

Date Night

While Fred's dad was in town way back in the end of October Fred and I got to go out on a special date. We have decided to take turns and plan a monthly date that the other person will really enjoy.  This was our first month and Fred was planning it.  It was extra nice because we didn't have to find a babysitter with Ukki and Tonka in town.  We got dressed up and went out to eat a great dinner then walked a few blocks to a Ballet they have in Akron.  This was my first time going to the Ballet even though I have loved it since I danced as a little girl.  Fred does listen sometimes :).

We both actually had a great time!  Fred even said that he liked the Ballet.  We ended the night walking back to the car on a little path through a park (just like in the movies).  I would have to say that I was very impressed with the date and had a wonderful time.  I think I have a pretty amazing husband!

CaringBridge and E-Card

This is a little out of order but I wanted to share a few things for Adilene.

One of her nurses mentioned this to us and we thought that everyone might like to know.  On Akron Children's website there is a link to send a card.  It is free and a volunteer will print it out and bring it to her room.

He is a link to the caring bridge website.  We have asked Fred's aunt to post updates on there for us.
