Father's Day

Unfortunately for Fred, Father's Day was not that exciting this year.  He was on call this weekend so we went out for a great dinner and a movie while my mom was here.  He didn't even get to sleep in because he had to go to work early.  When he got home he got to relax for the rest of the day.  I didn't live up to the Mother's day that I received but the restaurant we went to has become one of his favorites and I am sure it will not be the last time we visit.

8 Months Old

Eight Months Old

My Appearance:  I am now weighing 18 pounds 2 ounces and am at 26.75 inches long.  My head is growing and although my headbands are a little loose I can now wear them.  My hair is getting long on the top of my head but the sides and back are still short or bald.  My eyes are now a very light blue.  I love to smile but I don’t have any teeth yet.  I am getting so long.  I still look very thick and have some rolls but mostly on my arms and legs, my belly is round but not to big.

Milestones:  This month I started sleeping on my belly all night long.  Mommy even lays me down on my belly so I don’t have to wake myself up to roll over.  I also started eating real food this month.  I have eaten sweet potatoes, carrots, avocado, and bananas, and I think sweet potatoes and avocado are my favorites so far.  I have gotten very good at using my voice.  I like to grunt a lot and very loud, it makes my whole family laugh.  I have moved into size 3 diapers and am wearing 6-9 month clothes right now.  I think I am now considered a mobile baby.  When I am on the floor I can’t crawl but I can roll, turn, and scoot almost anywhere I want to go.  I usually end up by the toy box or under the coffee table, sometimes I bump my head and I don’t like that at all.

Daily Routine:  Not much has changed in my daily routine.  I am still trying to figure out if I want 2 or 3 naps a day, I eat the same amount.  I have been staying up longer in between my first and second nap.  I do a lot more playing and moving and I am very interested in my brother.

Special Events:  This month I got to do some fun things for the first time.  I went swimming for the first time when G-ma was here.  I had fun and although it wasn’t to hot I enjoyed being in the water.  I went to the MAPS museum with my family and then went to a carnival, maybe next time I will get to ride some rides.  I got to celebrate my first 4th of July and watched fireworks for the 2nd time.

G-Ma Visits

About a month ago my mom came into town for a visit.  We had such a great time, and the kids loved having some extra attention on them.  She got in late on a Saturday night so the kids were already asleep when she got here so I took her on a late night grocery shopping trip.  The next morning when Blaiden woke up all he wanted to do was go upstairs and tickle G-Ma awake.  She never gets to sleep in here because of the time change, she usually wakes up around 6AM Colorado time.

The rest of the day we played and then Fred and I decided it would be the only day we could go out on a date.  We went to go see a movie which we haven't done since Christmas.  We then went to dinner, this part was hard for me becasue I didn't want to go after the movie, I just wanted to go back home because I felt I had been gone long enough.  Fred and my mom both talked me into going and so we went up to Akron to a place we have heard about.  It was great and I am happy we took the time to have a great afternoon without the kids.

Monday we did a little shopping and bought a few things to make a 4th of July craft.  It was a day of playing and I think G-Ma loved it as much as the kids did.  We also decided to make a run up to the outlet mall.  With 2 kids in tow now we cant have the marathon shopping days we use to have but we got a few hours in before we had to head home.  I think Blaiden had fun because he got to feed the fish and ducks and I think he rode 3 different rides.

Tuesday we decided to go swimming.  It turned out to be a cooler day but not horrible, this also meant that the pool was not crowded.  Blaiden did not like being in the big pool.  He would hang on for dear life and wouldn't let go, so he spent most of his time in the kid splash area that had a bunch of fountains.  Adilene was a little shocked when she got into the water for the first time but we had a great floating toy for her and in the end she loved being pushed around in the big pool.  We had a picnic there and played a little after lunch until Blaiden was getting grouchy from pushing back his nap.

Wednesday was her last full day here and again we relaxed a little and played with the kids for most of the day.  Blaiden has a "Me and Grandma" book that we read sometimes and it talks about baking cookies with Grandma so Blaiden wanted to do that while G-Ma was visiting.  While the kids took a nap we went outside and pulled some weeds.

Thursday we had about half a day and so in the morning we cleaned my house (thanks Mom).  We left for the airport early so we could run by the mall and pick up a shirt we passed up on Monday.  Then it was time to drop her off at the airport.  I felt like we needed one more day but I always do.  It was hard to say goodbye but it was softened a little knowing we have the next 3 trips planned!

My Professinal Selfie Taker

Blaiden has become obsessed with playing with phones.  I don't mind it so I let him play on mine a few times throughout the day.  He knows how to use a lot of the different apps and knows how to get in and out of them.  The camera is one that he is a pro at and these are just a few of the pictures I have on my phone that I thought I should share.

7 Months Old

Well it is 2 weeks late but here is the 7 month update for Adilene.

Seven Months Old

My Appearance:  I am now weighing in at 17lbs 5oz and 26.25 inches long.   My head is growing but still not big enough for most of my headbands yet.  My hair is growing and getting pretty long on the top of my head.  My eyes are still a beautiful blue, they are still getting a little lighter but I think they will stay blue.  I am showing off my smile more these days but I don’t have any teeth yet.  I still have all my rolls and my big belly but I am also growing, I have even started wearing some 9 month clothes.

Milestones:  This month was another month of practice.  I am getting so strong; I am always on my belly so I practice holding my head up a lot.  I like to sit on Mommy and Daddy’s lap.  When I sit with Mommy I bring her hand up to my mouth and make noises with it.  I also like to blow raspberries.  I started to roll over in bed, and even do this at nap time.  At night I don’t roll over until about 3 or 4 in the morning but I like sleeping on my tummy more.

Daily Routine:  I am so consistent and so my schedule is about the same as it has been.  I eat 5 times during my day and sleep all night.  I am trying to go down to 2 naps some days it works out and others it doesn’t.  I am showing some interest in food and so Mommy says she is going to start feeding me some soon.  I am enjoying spending some time outside and Blaiden loves it too so we go out a lot.

Special Events:  This month I got to a lot of fun things.  I went out to a cookout at the park.  I went to my first baseball game and got to see fireworks for the first time.  I also got to help Mommy celebrate Mother’s day.  I had so much fun with my family this month and to make it better G-ma got here on my seventh month birthday.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend.  It started on Friday night with a friends birthday BBQ at a very fun park.  Fred and another husband took the kids that could walk on a hike and were gone for about half an hour.  Blaiden had a blast, then ate some food and cake, and then went to the playground.  We all had a great time but we were the first to leave because it was late and the kids had had enough.

On Saturday we went up to Cleveland to watch the Rockies play the Indians.  We took our time going up to the game, it didn't start until 6 and so we knew that it was going to be a hard night but Blaiden was so excited to be there and he and Adilene both had late naps so we were hopeful that it would be a good night.  We got there some time in the 2nd inning, we got our picture taken a few times and it was $1 hotdog night so we stopped and got a few.  Then we headed to the Kid Zone, we didn't know what this was but a worker told us it was fun.  When we got up there it was pretty packed with kids.  There was an indoor area where the younger kids could play.  Fred and Blaiden hung out there while I went to go feed Adilene.

Then we made our way out to the outdoor games.  We met up with a friend, his daughter, and mom and let the kids play some more.  Blaiden loved the races but didn't quite understand that it was a race.  He would follow the other kids and would always have to say 1, 2, 3, GO! before he would start running back.  Finally around the bottom of the 5th we made it to our chairs.  By this time Adilene was ready to go to bed as it was around 9 and a good 2 hours past bedtime.  I held her while Fred tried to control Blaiden.  He ate some snacks, cheered at everything, and tried to talk to everyone around us.

In the 7th and 8th innings they shot off a few fireworks.  Blaiden got so excited all he would say after that is BOOM! and raise his hands in the air.  When the game was over we watched a fireworks show and he loved it!  Adilene woke up just in time too and so while I covered her ears she watched as they lit up the sky.

Our family had such an amazing time, Blaiden had so much fun and it is amazing experiencing these outings with him and Adilene is such an awesome baby she is so relaxed and will do anything.  I can't wait to do this again.  However the amount of planning and the amount of bags it took for this trip was a little crazy.
