A boy and his dog

We adopted Kiara the same day I found out I was pregnant.  Fred used my emotional state to convince me that we needed a dog, that the baby needed a dog.  I still can't believe that I said yes but there is no denying how much Blaiden loves having this dog around. Kiara's favorite person is Fred but Blaiden comes in as a close second.  His favorite game is chasing her around the house with a bat.  He tries to hit her and thinks it is hilarious when he scares her.  She acts like she enjoys this for a while and then we have to put an end to the game because she looks terrified and her tail is tucked under.  I am sure that they will be friends for as long as she is alive.  Fred is already worried about what we are going to do when she gets old and dies.

Kiara and Blaiden meeting for the first time. / Kiara's look when Blaiden was crying at home for the first time.

As both of them get older they are becoming better friends and recently they have really been having a good time together.  I know now that I can not get rid of this dog, she is here to stay. Fred has Blaiden trying to talk me into a second dog so Adilene can have one but I am not falling for that one again.

Sibling Love

When you add another child to a family I thought they would just squeeze into your heart but in reality your heart grows to fit in that new little addition.  One child filled my heart completely, another has added to this and filled a void I didn't know I had. If this is as big as our family ever is then I am truly happy, if we have another then we will be even more blessed!

I am still amazed as to how much I love my kids, it seems unreal that I can actually love someone so much that when I really think about it, it brings tears to my eyes.  I thought that this was strongest feeling I would ever feel in my life.  I was proven wrong when I witnessed the small acts of love my kids show each other.

Blaiden will ask to hold Adilene, bring her a toy, or lay down beside her.  These little things only last a minute or two but when I watch him in this time I can see the love he has for her already.  Adilene is so in love with Blaiden.  Whenever he is around she is watching him.  No one can hold her attention like he does.  She knows his voice and will look to find him if she hears it.

I can't imagine my life without these two and I know how important it is for this relationship to grow.  I can't wait for all the ways that they will show each other their love for one another.

It's a Korpi Visit

After a couple times of rescheduling, Fred's mom and brothers got to come out and meet Adilene for the first time.  It was so good to see them, Fred hadn't seen them in over a year.  We had a great time while they were here.  Fred took everyone to the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Adilene and I stayed home).  We walked around this huge flea market, ate some good food, and hung out a lot.  Fred, Casey, and Phil did some work in the basement, which was a big help.

Blaiden had a great time with everyone here.  He especially loved Casey,  they would play with all the tools and put stuff together.  Casey even let Blaiden play with his ipad and downloaded some of Blaiden's favorite apps.

We spent a lot of time at home so that Margaret could spend as much time with the kids as possible.  She put Adilene to sleep for almost every nap and bedtime when she was here.  Blaiden was so excited to see her come up the stairs every morning.

We all had a great time while they were here.  Casey had to leave a day early to head to Alaska for work and Phil and Margaret left the next day.  Our house felt empty without our guests and we were sad to see them go.  We hope to see them all again soon.
