August

I keep waiting for things to slow down but I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. August was a great month!  It started with a visit from family, Fred's brother Phillip and his wife Felicia and his dad Larry (Ukki) and his wife Tonja (Tonka) came out to celebrate the Hall of Fame weekend with us.  We had a great time with a house full of people.  Adilene didn't have good enough numbers to go out and so I stayed home with her but everyone else enjoyed all of the festivities.  Blaiden loves when we have visitors and he always tries to become the center of attention.  Adilene was a little shy at first but she warmed up to everyone.  It also helps because Phil and Felicia bring the best presents!

The next weekend Blaiden and I flew to Colorado to be apart of the race my family was putting on for Adilene.  We were sad that she couldn't come with us but her numbers were still not high enough so she stayed home with Fred.  It was our shortest visit we have made but so worth it.  The flight there was so much fun, it was late at night and so I brought glow sticks and Blaiden thought that was the coolest thing ever.  The Captain even told Blaiden he looked awesome!  We made the most of our 2 day trip and had a great time.

Towards the end of the month we had 2 big milestones!  First Blaiden started preschool.  Last year he went to more of a daycare type setting but this year he is in preschool and loves it.  He goes 5 days a week for only 3 hours a day but loves every second of it.

The same day Blaiden started school Adilene his a huge milestone in her chemotherapy protocol, she entered the maintenance phase!  She still gets chemo weekly but we will be doing more at home and they are a smaller dose.  Her numbers should be a little more stable and we shouldn't have to worry about being in the hospital as much if at all.  We are so ready for her to start feeling better on a regular basis and very excited to not have to worry about going to the hospital so frequently.

The last thing we did this month was go to a baseball game as a kickoff celebration for childhood cancer awareness month in September!  Fred was on call and so I brought a friend along and we had a great time.  We only made it to about the 5th inning but we still had fun and it was so nice to see all the people out to support these brave little kids!
