Happy Father's Day

Father's day this year was pretty laid back.  We were still trying to get all moved in and it was the first day that we didn't have to go back to our old house which was nice. I did not even think of a plan until the day before when Blaiden and I went out to get a coffee mug that he would write on.  Fred had asked for a case for his tablet for Father's day gift and I ordered it late so it wasn't here and I wanted him to have something to open.

That morning Fred slept in a little and Blaiden and I made a pot of coffee and went and woke Fred up with his gift.  Blaiden did a great job writing on the cup and it looked great.  I got the idea from Pinterest and Fred loved it but I guess the heat of the coffee made the ink rub off or the site I got it from was wrong.
Later after Blaiden woke up from his nap we decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings (Fred's favorite place) because we really didn't have any food in the house yet.

It was a great day spent as a family.  We didn't do much work on the house but we needed the break.  Happy Father's day Fred we love you!

Family News...

I thought that I would do a family update.  I was going to write about our house and share some pictures but 2 weeks in and it still is not put together.  Also my mom is coming out this week to help out and do some painting so I will wait on that post.

Fred.  He is doing good, loving life not having school or a job.  This little break is coming to an end soon, however and real life is finally starting for him.  I think he is a little excited to go back into the medicine (he will never say this).  Lately he has been the handy man around our house building shelves, fixing the bathtub, working outside, and anything else I ask of him.  He has been great.  Also Happy Father's Day today.  I will write another post on that.

Blaiden. O this sweet little terror.  He has adjusted great to the new house, we were a little worried.  He LOVES our backyard, and our neighbors yard.  They have a play set and Blaiden thinks he owns it.  He is getting a new tooth and so the last 2 days he has been a little grouchy at times.  One of his favorite things to do is go for a ride on his trike around the neighborhood.  He is almost 17 months old!!  He is still not talking, that we can understand that is.  He is so tall that everyone thinks he is older then he is, NBA player?

Jessi.  Well the big news on me is I am pregnant!!  That's right the Korpi's are expecting #2.  This is more family news I guess but it can be under my name since I am the one with the expanding waist line.  We are very excited.  This one should be here probably the end of November.  Fred and I are both thinking in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner.  We still have about a month before we find out the sex.  Blaiden has no clue and we are not sure how he is going to like sharing time with another one but we are hopeful that he will want to help and love the baby just as much as we do.

Our New HOME!!!

We finally closed on our house!!!  This was the longest process ever and there were a ton of ups and downs but it is all over and we now have a home.  We are so excited and can't wait until we are all moved in.  I am sure that it will take some time (more like a lot of time) to get settled, but we are happy to be in our new home.  Fred and I have been talking about living in the same house for 5 years.  The last time Fred lived in the same house for that long was when he was very young.  The last time I lived in a house that long was when I was 5-12 years old.
I am so happy to not be renting anymore.  I feel like now I can really decorate my house they way I want it to be and not with whatever I can make work.  My mom is coming out in a few weeks and that is when we plan on doing some painting.  Blaiden's room is first up on that list because it is yellow and has a flower boarder.  I know that it will take a while for the house to actually get to the point that I want it to be (Fred and I already have reno plans)  but it is the perfect little house for us.

This picture was on Monday afternoon.  As of today (Thursday morning) we are currently living in 2 houses both are filled with boxes, dirty laundry, and need cleaned.  It has been a lot of work and we are not done yet.  Tonight might be our first night at the new house.

To Blaiden From Dad

Blaiden,

Wait a minute, you are already over a year old? How does this possibly happen? I remember not long ago when we brought you home from the hospital. Were you cute, nah, but you were perfect. I don’t think you will understand until you have kids of your own but we spent more time worrying about you and watching you when you were asleep than when you were awake. If we were both lying in bed and couldn’t hear you then we would immediately stare at the monitor. There were more nights than you can believe that one of us would softly put our hand on your chest, just to make sure you were breathing.

Wow, your 16 months old! Instead of checking if you’re breathing, now we watch the monitor to see how many animals you are snuggling with and how many you pushed away. You only take one nap a day which is our most productive time. I’m on vacation now and loving all the time we can spend together, but you are mostly loving the bacon I bring home from the hospital each morning. The craziest thing I notice about you is how quickly you learn things. We teach you things and you pick them up so quickly!

Here is one thing your Mom can’t stand: you are such a boy. All you want to do is be outside, once out there you throw things, beat things, get dirty, and rip up the weeds. It gets even worse inside while you chase Kiara with anything that moves, dive off of the couch, and try to climb everything. What a little Man! You and I will sit around and listen to some Country music, you like to clap along to the beat or dance depending on the song. We will also watch some cartoons but only if it is Mickey or Jake.

Here’s the crazy thing, if I start watching anything sports you will climb right up on my lap and just stare at the TV! After we went to watch Duke 2 months you learned how to clap and now you can’t stop! This year will be so fun with the Broncos! I’m thinking about getting you a Montee Ball Jersey for you to wear this year!!

Well Blaiden, its no secret that you’re awesome. Everything that mom and dad do is funny (because I’m hilarious) according to you. You laugh all the time with us, whether we are yard sale-ing, headed to a safari trip, or just cruising. Blaiden, you love singing along in the back seat with Dad and Mom, don’t ever give that up.

I want you to stop growing up, I want you to be a little guy that sleeps on my chest, I want you to be the guy that I came home with me 16 months ago. I guess some babies grow up to be perfect little boys, because you did. I guess some of those little boys grow up to be little trouble makers, because you did. I really don’t know what is next for this little boy but what I do know is that I love you and you will be perfect, Mama loves you and Kiara will lick your face and love you too. Blaiden always remember that Dad and Mom are here for you, you are never alone and you are always perfect.

Love,
Dad
