Leaving my kids while Fred and I went on vacation was one of the hardest things I have done. Being a stay at home mom I don't have a lot of time away from my kids, which is the way I like it. I know I am more of a "helicopter" mom and although I try to not be too crazy, I know this is how I will always be (my poor kids!). So when we decided to leave there was only one person I knew I could leave my kids with, my mom. She is way more relaxed then I am and defiantly gives the kids more candy then I would like but she is one great G-ma.
She flew in on Thursday and it was so cute when we picked her up
because Blaiden saw her and ran so fast he almost made her fall over
when he hugged her. Adilene was going through some pretty bad
separation/stranger anxiety and so she was a little freaked out when my
mom started kissing on her.
On Friday we all got to
go to play group where there was an Easter egg hunt for the kids. We
all had a good time and I am happy my mom got to be a part of the holiday.
Then it was time for Fred and I to leave. It was so hard walking out
the door but Blaiden was pushing me out saying "daddy is going to leave
you" so that made it a little easier.
I am not sure what filled the rest of their time I know they went on walks, played in the yard, made cinnamon rolls, and played hard so they all could take a nap together every day. The nights were a little difficult because the kids had been sick and Adilene's nose was so stuffy.
Overall I think the kids and my mom had a great time! I was sooo ready to be home and have my whole family back together but I am also very thankful for the time the kids got to spend with their G-Ma.
