Adilene 18 Months

18 Months Old

My Appearance:  I am now weighing 22 pounds even and 28.75 inches long.  In the past 6 months I have grown so much.  My hair is so long that I have to have it in a pony tail all the time or I would be eating it.  It is growing in so well that I haven’t even had to get it cut yet and it looks like a perfect bob cut.  My eyes are more of a dark blue now and I get complements on them all the time so I guess they are very pretty.  I look like I have thinned out more because I have gotten so tall.  My belly isn’t so round and I don’t really have rolls on my arms anymore.  That being said I still have some of my baby fat. I am in between 12 and 18 month cloths and still wear a size 3 diaper.

Milestones:  In the past 6 months I have done a ton of new things.  I crawl on all 4’s now and climb on top of things like chairs, Blaiden’s bed and the footstool to the rocking chair in my room.  I walk around all the furniture and even the walls.  I like to play in the kitchen and go through any door that is open.  I know where mom usually doesn’t want me to go and so any time she is not looking I head that direction.  I have a mouth full of teeth about 11-12 I don’t let mom count them.  I can clap, feed myself, and take off my shoes.  I am sure there are more things I can do but I’m so busy I don’t want to stop and write about them.  I know my mom wrote something about them here.

Daily Routine:  My schedule is about the same as it was when I was 1.  I take 2 naps but my morning one is really short and sometimes I skip it so I think I'll go down to 1 nap soon.  I am eating a lot more table food but I still have my bottle.  I love to play and explore and so I am never still for long.  We have been going outside everyday and I love that, I can always find water somewhere and love to get wet.  A few of my favorite things to play with are my wooden blocks, balls, and pretty much whatever Blaiden is playing with.

Special Events:  Over the past 6 months I have got to do a ton of fun things, I took swimming lessons, went sledding, celebrated holidays and birthdays, and played outside a ton.  I got to make friends at playgroup, learned the swings are my favorite but the slides come in as a close second.  Blaiden is my best friend and I try and follow him everywhere, Mommy comes as a close second one on that one.

Casey Comes to Visit

A week before the kids and I were leaving to Colorado Fred had got some tickets to the Garth Brooks concert.  It was about 4 hours away from our house and I was not ready to leave the kids over night again so Fred's brother Casey came into town to go to the concert with him.  He was here for a few days and although we didn't do much it was so fun to have him here with us.  He is so sweet to the kids and Blaiden just loves playing with him.  They got to work on Fred's truck together and Blaiden still talks about that "time when Casey was here and we worked on Dad's truck."

Fred and Casey had great seats and a great time at the concert.  I think he was happy he got to go and of course happy to see the kids.  He even got to stay a day longer then he thought due to his flight getting delayed.  We were sad to see him go but we knew that we would get to see him in a few days.

Half Matathon

The last weekend in April (I'm so far behind with the blog!) I had signed up to run my second half marathon.  The end of January we got a treadmill and so I used that for the majority of my training.  I planned to follow the same training program that I used for my first but that didn't really work out.  I found it very hard to fit in all the workouts I needed to and with the kids schedules running for more the 45 minutes proved to be quite the challenge.  I was so nervous the week of the race I didn't know how I would do.

Race day finally arrived and it happened to be on the same weekend that Fred was on call.  The Doctor he was with was nice enough to let him watch the kids while I ran and then go in after the race was over.  I left the house early and Fred wasn't far behind with the kids.  It was a freezing morning but I was so nervous that I didn't mind much.

When I first signed up I wanted to do better then I did last time and my goal was to have a time under 2 hours.  When it was actually race day I knew that wasn't going to happen so I decided I would be happy if my time was under 2.5 hours.  I was feeling pretty good through the first 9 miles and my time was looking great.  I am not sure what happened when I hit mile marker 10 because it went downhill from there.  I had to run/walk the last 3 miles and it felt like it took forever!  With the last .1 miles to go I saw Fred and the kids for the first time.  Blaiden saw me and ran right to me, I think he wanted to finish running the race with me.  He was very sad when I told him he had to stay with Daddy.

My official finish time was 2 hours 24 minutes which was a little disappointing considering I ran 15 minutes faster the first time.  However, unlike the first race where I said I would never do that again after this race I was certain I will do it again.  Now I just need to find another race and start training again.

On a side note I am officially done with blog posts from April!  Now if I can get caught up before the end of the month I will be happy!
